Spiritual Lift

Posted in Personal Revival

I realize that many of us are surrounded by difficult circumstances, many struggles that may be hidden from most but still painfully real.  I was reminded this week of a wonderful truth:

The Law of Gravity is all around us, constantly at work kind of like the law of sin and death that is mentioned in Romans 8.  But the Law of Gravity will be silenced if we introduce another law, the Law of Lift.  Airplanes soar through the sky violating the gravity by using a "higher" law, the lift they experience renders gravity ineffective.

So with us, we can continue to live, even as born again Christians under the law of sin and death or we can dive into what Christ purchased for us on the cross and live in the law of "lift" so to speak.  Romans says it this way,

Prayer is Essential to Survival in Your Marriage

“I use God’s mighty weapons, not those made by men, to knock down the devil’s strong holds. These weapons can break down every proud argument against finding Him. With these weapons I can capture rebels and bring them back to God and change them into men whose heart’s desire is obedience to Christ.”            (2 Corinthians 10:4,5 TLB)

Although some couples think prayer is only needed in times of distress, prayer is vital to a couple in their daily life. We need constant communication with our heavenly Father to have an open relationship with our spouse and family. In Him we breathe and have our being. We have seen the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives as we keep the lines of communication with the heavenly Father open. This means daily prayer together as a couple. In order for us to know how to have abundance in our everyday living we must put prayer first. It’s not a religious act but a vital need. We need to rely on the leading of the Holy Spirit for the smallest details of our relationship and existence.

Seven Questions Of Vital Importance

By Oswald J. Smith

There are seven questions that every Christian should face, questions of such vital importance that to ignore them is to imperil one’s spiritual life. Let us consider them, then, one by one, and may God help us to answer them honestly and sincerely.

1. Am I committing any known sin? "If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me" (Psa. 66:18). He will not even listen to what I say. Hence, my prayers will not be answered while I am harbouring sin.

Note, if you will, that I have said "known" sin, for it may be that you have to face what the Bible terms "the sin that doth so easily beset us" (Heb. 12:1), some one sin to which from time to time, you yield. It may be but a weight, an idol, and yet it is sin, and God says you must give it up.

"Your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, so that He will not hear" (Isa. 59:2). Sin separates. Sin hides God’s face. There can be no communion, no fellowship where there is sin.

Brokenness - The Beginning of Revival

We want to be very simple in this matter of Revival. Revival is just the life of the Lord Jesus poured into human hearts. Jesus is always victorious. In heaven they are praising Him all the time for His victory. Whatever may be our experience of failure and barrenness, He is never defeated. His power is boundless. And we, on our part, have only to get into a right relationship with Him, and we shall see His power being demonstrated in our hearts and lives and service, and His victorious life will fill us and overflow through us to others. And that is Revival in its essence.
