Repenting of Rebellion

Posted in Personal Revival. Hits: 2059

Pray that believers in Christ all over the world will put into practice today the Risen Christ's urging for each of us to become overcomers...zealous to repent.

"As many as I love I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.  Behold, I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.  He who has an ear, let him hear with the Spirit says to the churches."    ~ Revelation 3:19-22

I rebel, you rebel; it's how we acted as two-year olds.  It still shows up in our behavior even now as adults.  It's in our old man nature ever since Adam and Eve.  But it's no longer necessary thanks to Jesus/Yeshua's finished work on the cross.  We are no longer slaves to sin. Now as His children, showered with His love, we are slaves to His righteousness. With no condemnation, the Risen Christ now intercedes constantly for us, urging each of us to root out our old sinful patterns with a zealousness that exceeds our zeal for local sporting teams.  We don't need to be patched up or fixed up; we need to be a new creation. He is returning soon as our Bridegroom.  As His Bride, partakers of His holiness, we each have spots and wrinkles to remove before His arrival.  He wishes for each of us to become overcomers of the flesh and the world, to sit on His throne as He now sits on His Father's throne.
Central to this overcomer process is removing the spirit of rebellion.  Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, expressing itself in a life of self, relying on one's own strength, fearing man instead of God. This old rebellious nature must be transformed through regular repentance.  The wonderful blessing is that the Lord Himself, through the Holy Spirit, is knocking on the door of our hearts and minds, hoping we will open the door so that He can assist us in the repenting process. It's time to "afflict our souls" with deep conviction.  It's His purpose to "establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father..."
He also knows that joy follows repentance.  He's knocking on the door of our hearts and minds today.  He wants to come in and dine with each of us. Will we open it? Will we spend time today with Him repenting? Any hesitancy is a very real sign of rebellion.  May we quash our rebelliousness and experience His joy.

Lord God Almighty, in Jesus' Holy Name, help me to remove my old ways. Wash me with Your Holy Word. Restore my soul.  Create in me a new heart, oh God.  I am so humbled that You wish me to partake of Your Holiness.  Help me today to spend time with You to remove the many spots You've already covered in Your precious Blood.  I open the door of my mind and heart to invite You in to dine with me.  Help me to understand the privilege and freedom and joy of repentance.  I want to be zealous in following You.
Continue in prayer using the 4 prayer points as the Lord leads you.

Four Prayer points:

1.    Help us to recognize the evil and rebellion within ourselves.
2.    Help us to TURN AWAY from this evil.
3.    Give us a genuine contriteness through prayer, fasting and sincere REPENTANCE.
4.    Heal our land so that we may become a beacon once again shedding Your Light throughout the world.
