Work is mentioned 420 times in the King James Bible. The Word of God defines God's
work, Jesus' work and man's work. God's work begins with creation and the creation of man in His image. God declares His work, "Good." The Lord gave man a work to do in Gen 2:15. The LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. Man was to steward the earth, replenish it, and take dominion over everything on the earth.
Since man is made in the image of God, he has a mandate from his Creator to work. God will establish and reward the works of our hands. When our work is righteous, ethical, and truthful, we are blessed and prosper. Our work is rewarded with peace and the Lord's reward.
Jesus said that he came to finish the work of the Father who was still at work in the world. Jesus' work was to do the will of His Father and finish the work which the Father began. Our work was to believe on him who the Father had sent. God has created us for good works and will establish the works of our hands. We are exhorted to believe and do the things that the Father has put before us to do with integrity and diligence. Our earthly work will be rewarded by our Father God.
Our challenge, as we seek God, is to go about our work and be a missionary for the glory of God. We are to give one-hundred percent to our mountain of achievement--the mountain we're claiming for God. Our mission is to fill our sphere of influence with the glory of God, with the word of God, with the testimony of our life, allowing our life to shine, because Jesus said, "You are the light of the world. Let your light so shine that they may see your good works, and then glorify your Father
